Project Evaluation – SHINE

For Audiences Central, Red Lantern conducted visits to five Birmingham youth centres from January to March 2011, to carry out observation studies and evaluation interviews with teenagers and youth workers engaged in the SHINE community music initiative. SHINE is a project managed and delivered by Sound It Out.

Information gathered and provided to the client included: audio interviews, transcriptions, photos, baseline forms and observation notes from eight centre visits and attendance at two showcase events.

Creative Alliance Forums

The Creative Alliance Forums were funded by Arts Council England and commissioned by West Midlands Creative Alliance in 2006. Lauren Davies programmed and delivered five discussion events from 2005 – 2006. Topics discussed at the forums ranged from ways that artists are inspired by the built environment to the range of diversity in terms of cultural and gender representation in the arts sector. The audience for the forums were emerging and established artists and creative practitioners in the West Midlands.

Since 2010 Red Lantern has worked on a wide range of projects with arts and culture clients:

Moseley Exchange – Assisted the centre management team with programming displays of artwork.

Grand Union – Operational management of artist led gallery and studio complex.

NTI Birmingham – Conducting market research for postgraduate course provision.

Arts & Business Art of Ideas programme – Production of a project evaluation report in association with Pink Sky Thinking.

Birmingham City Council’s Gallery 37 initiative – joint project co-ordination with A M Laughrin Creative Solutions.
